Bedside organizers can be filled for a child who is stuck in their bed due to illness or injury often for a long time. This is an excellent place to hide small treasures, and keep toys at arms reach even when they have to clean their bed off for a procedure. These are often given to kids who need a special cheering up, or have a injury that keeps them completely immobile.
Or they can be filled for Moms who find themselves on bed rest or having a high risk pregnancy. Often it is moms who live on one of the outer islands, medivac-ed over to O’ahu to Kapiolani Medical center to wait until baby is born. There are many stories of families who don’t get to be together during this time. Maybe the Dad can’t take that much time off of work, or they have other kids at home, no matter what the story is the problem is the same; Moms who are in one of the most stressful, anxiety filled, painful times of their lives alone and in need of encouragement and something special to brighten their day.
The hospital staff is excited to receive the organizers as they never have enough for the need. Hospital guesses they could use between 30 and 40 a month but are often stingy and only use 10 so that they have enough. Each organizer can be filled with different things. So if your family would like to adopt one organizer and fill it you can also put a special note of encouragement inside as well.
